XC90 T6 Momentum 2018

Hello,

I just bought a brand new XC90 T6 Momentum 2018 base model. Everything what I wanted seemed to be part of this model...except front parking assist (just the beeps). The car has everything from lane assist, to adaptive cruise controle, etc. But apparently Volvo decided to put the front parking assist not in the basic package and move it to the convenience package.

Now, I really would like to add this but the dealer says that the can't retrofit or add this. I would like to make use of the joint knowledge of this forum and hopefully you can provide me with guidance / solution for this problem.

I really like the car outside and inside but this is quite annoying (especially for this premium SUV).

Thanks, Tom.

Are you looking to just add a front camera?

Hi Tom, thanks for posting this, as I?m also interested in the answer. I?ve had a 2017 inscription from new. I thought I?d ticked the lot, but apparently no front park assist ?? A lesson in never assume for me.
Clearly there are sensors for collision mitigation, I wondered whether piggy backing that system would work??
Sorry I can?t assist, but keen to hear feedback. Cheers

I’m also interested to see if this is possible. We just purchased 2019 XC90, didn’t realized it didn’t have the front parking sensors. I’ve asked the parts department at my dealer if this was possible, they weren’t sure so they emailed Volvo. I haven’t heard back from him because of the Thanksgiving holiday. I will contact them this week to see if they hear s anything from Volvo. I’d really like to have the front parking sensor as well.

I see on Volvo's 2019 vehicle configuration site that some of the previous option packages have been switched around and even deleted in some cases. Does your XC90 have the self parking parallel and perpendicular feature? If not, then you probably aren't equipped with front park sensors.

It’s not listed in the window sticker so I don’t have it. Such a shame for a car to cost this much and not have it oh well.

My 2017 XC90 T6 R-Design came fully loaded on the dealer lot fortunately (4 corner air suspension, Bowers & Wilkins audio, carbon fiber interior, heated rear seats & windshield, self parking, etc.). I was surprised Volvo switched some of the option packages and deleted others for 2019. I hope they aren't adopting the German luxury automakers practice of nickel and diming buyers on upgraded option packages.

This is possible. If your XC90 has rear park assist you can purchase the Park Assist Pilot Kit. It has the front sensors as well as the ones for the front/rear fenders. Parts Dept quoted me $582 for parts minus labor. He’s thinking labor could cost up to $1100. I found this on the Accessory page on Volvo’s site. Hope this helps.
