Second/third gen XC90 front end body parts on 1st generation XC90?

I was wondering, after checking measurements, whether anyone has used hood/fenders/headlamps and front bumper from a 2nd or 3rd generation on a 1st generation XC90?
Granted, I've only seen the measurements/specs online, but unless I'm crazy, this seems like a fairly easy retrofit?

I really think the new Volvos are great looking cars but the automotive press describes the 4 cylinder turbo engines as ‘buzzy and lacking torque’, which is something that can NEVER be said about the V-8!
