2016 XC-90.
I was driving during a snow storm the other day, and the wipers were collecting ice and not working well. I pulled over to knock the ice off the wipers. The wipers are "parked" under the the hood so you can't just lift them up and knock the ice off (as I have done on every car I ever owned). Grrr. Did my best to knock off ice while the wipers were under the hood, and carried on grumbling about not buying the heated wipers (if, in fact, heated wipers are even available).
Anyway, when I reached my destination and had a little time to investigate (come on, it's a Swedish vehicle, it definitely snows in Sweden, this just can't be), I found that you just need to go into "Settings->Car->Wipers->Put wipers in maintenance position", and the wipers go to the their top position and can be easily reached to replace or knock ice off of.
Hopefully, I saved others some frustration and less than ideal winter driving.
