Cracking noise and dynaudio surround sound not working

I just bought a 2007 volvo xc90 d5, 136kw. While in drive and stopped at a light there is a cracking or something hitting against another thing noise coming from the front and the gearbox works perfectly, engine too. When i switch to neutral or reverse the sound is not there anymore. The second issue i am having is with the audio system the surround sound is not working and the sound is plain without any bass working. Anyone has any ideas to why any of this would be happening?
