Brake Booster - Failed on 2012 Volvo and replacement part

My 2012 XC90 has 175,000 miles and the brake booster failed/deflated after depressing the brake as trying to put it in gear (automatic) and it deflated. I replaced it with a used booster with unknown miles and that also failed/deflated after 1.5 -2 weeks after the used replacement was installed, while also depressing the brake to put in gear. Wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience with what is causing the brake booster to fail? Thank you in advance!
