- 2016 XC90 T6 Momentum
Hi everyone. We have just bought an XC90 T6 Momentum, pretty much all available options including trailer package.
Would love to hear from anyone as to using a hitch ball with a 3 1/4" drop? We need to use one with a Euro horse trailer (non electric brakes). The hitch receiver on the X990 has the lock pin about 1 1/2" in from the outer face. A standard Reese bar and ball has the lock hole about 3" from the rear. Seems like the inserted position of the bar leaves a really short length when using the factory lock pin postion. The factory bar from Volvo has no drop and I can not find any actual drawing specs on it. Has anyone used a North American draw bar with a drop and is it strong enough with such a short insertion length or did you drill another hole in the bar to allow a deeper insertion into the receiver???
