An XC-something. What is it?

Seen in Isafjordur, Iceland, 2 weeks ago. Has a real 4x4, Off-road suspension, wheels and tyres, an interior that looks like it’s from the 60s or 70s, and enough rust to match. Plus very old number plates, pre-EU standard. A bit smaller than a VW bus.
Is it a Volvo, or did they slap a Volvo badge on something else?

I have never seen anything like it. Inclined to say probably not Volvo but then why would someone stick a Volvo badge on something like this? Unless a sense of humour…..it does look a bit (military) tank like.

It’s a Volvo C303. Tgb11 or something similar.
