Nice purchase, well done (y) Wrt to software updates, my understanding is that this is part of the warranty and service applied by dealer during regular maintenance. I don't think that they should charge you anything.

To a certain extent it is good that you can only get keys through Volvo, and with unique ID protection. This would be too risky if not. Imagine that anyone could make a fob out of ebay and your vin number!

Volvos are like lexus, overpriced although way better. If you want a better deal buy a lincoln or cadillac

In Driver profile you can store (or not) a lot of the settings. There is in it an option to not change settings (like a protection mode). If that option is on and the default setting is rear view camera then each time you will have to change the option to have 360 back.

The fob / driver modes memory system have a lot of bugs, using the door memory button help but this is annoying at this price range.

I don't have the issue myself, always shows on 360 when I reverse. I guess that you need to register this in your driver settings.

I live in Canada and warm my car from the app when temp is below 32F, it is nice to get into a warm car ;)

I have the OEM running boards and agree with you that they look very nice (especially at night since they have LEDs) but they are too narrow. I would advise you to consider alternatives, as they will be probably larger and certainly cheaper.
